On Monday April 21 at 5pm, hear three County Supervisors from rural counties talk about how changes at the federal level are impacting their counties, and how that will in turn drive a focus on policies at the county level and the focus of candidates in state and local elections.

Jaron Brandon has represented Tuolumne County as a Supervisor for the past 5 years. A UC Merced graduate who grew up in a trailer park, he brings a generational view as one of the first Millenials elected to county office, and focuses on rural policy, climate resiliency, and natural resource development. He additionally serves as the Vice-Chair of the five county Central Sierra Economic Development District and sits on the UCANR Presidential Advisory Committee. Heidi is in her third term on the Nevada County BOS, and has provided leadership on issues such as Homelessness, Broadband, Fire Safety and Insurance, Outdoor Recreation, and Climate Adaptation. She is currently the Board representative to the California Association of Counties (CSAC) where she led a state-wide Wildfire Insurance Workgroup, and represents the organization on the National Association of Counties (NACO) Board of Directors where she serves on the Justice and Public Safety Committee and as a member of the Intergovernmental Agency on Disaster Reform Task Force.
Rosemarie was re-elected in 2022 for her third four-year term. She co-led the Insurance Subgroup of the Tree Mortality Task Force, and worked with United Policyholders WRAP to ensure Mariposa residents’ wildfire insurance issues were visible at the State level. Working with other supervisors, she led the effort that resulted in the Governor’s 2015 Emergency Declaration on Tree Mortality. She has lobbied for federal funding for deferred maintenance in Yosemite, applied for and received a grant from PG&E to supply service dogs to veterans, and continues to work to find beneficial uses for forest biomass.
